Download Manager
System Requirements
To use the Download Manager you need to be running one of the following operating systems:
Windows 7
Windows Vista
Windows XP
Windows 2003
You also need to be using one of the following browsers:
Internet Explorer 6
Internet Explorer 7
Internet Explorer 8
If your computer is running with different software than this, you can use your browser download capability to download software.
Downloading Files
To pause and resume a download:
At any time during the download, you can click the Pause button to pause the download. You can resume the download by clicking the Resume button.
To cancel a download:
To cancel a download, close the Download Manager using the button at the top right corner of the Download Manager window.
When you cancel a download, you need to go back to your Account in Microsoft Store to proceed with the download. The portion of your software that you have already downloaded remains on your computer–you do not have to re-download it.
To install your software after downloading:
When your software download has completed, you can click Install to immediately begin the software installation, or you can click Show Folder to open the folder where your software was downloaded. In the download folder you can launch the setup or upgrade program.
Tip: Copy the product key to your clipboard before installing. Then you will have it ready when prompted. If you are upgrading to Windows Vista, you should copy or print the product key before beginning to install.
Download Manager Settings
You can specify the folder for your software downloads and whether or not Microsoft can collect anonymous information about your use of the Download Manager.
The default download folder is displayed in the Settings page. All your software downloads go to this folder so you can easily find them. To change the default location, click the Browse button and specify a new folder for downloads.
